Render & façade coating

A rendered house masked up ready for façade coating
Masked and prepared before coating

Tired pebbledash and cracked render soak up rain, then hold it. We clean it, make the substrate good, even out the texture where it needs it, and finish with a breathable coloured coating that sheds water instead of drinking it.

What's involved

How we do it.

Survey and substrate check

We tap the walls. Hollow, blown render has to come off and be made good — coating over it just hides the problem for a year.

Exterior wall cleaning

Full clean to remove dirt, algae, fungal growth and any loose or failing existing coating.

Repairs

Cracks filled, localised render repairs, blown sections cut out and replaced, then blended in.

Textured basecoat where needed

Evens out repairs and patchy texture so the finish coat looks like one wall, not a patchwork.

Masking

Windows, doors, roofline, drives and anything else that isn't getting painted.

Façade coating

The specified ProPERLA system in your chosen colour, at manufacturer coverage rates.

Our own work

A repair, not a cover-up.

These are our photos from our jobs — this is what happens before any coating goes near the wall.

ProPERLA Façade Coating, start to finish

Suitable for

  • Pebbledash and smooth render that's gone dirty, green or patchy
  • Previously painted walls where the paint is failing
  • Solid-wall properties suffering penetrating damp through porous render

Not suitable for

  • Walls with an unresolved leak, defective gutter or damaged roofline above them
  • Rising damp — different problem, different fix
  • Substrates too unstable to be made good

If yours falls in the second column we'll tell you at the survey rather than take the job. It's the cheapest thing we do for you.

Textured Basecoat

Three textures. Your call at the survey.

Where render is patchy, cracked or has been repaired, a breathable textured basecoat evens everything out first so the finish coat looks like one wall rather than a patchwork. It comes in three weights.

Questions

Asked before you ask.

Is it just masonry paint?

No. Masonry paint sits on the surface and tends to trap moisture behind it. The ProPERLA system is breathable and water-repellent — water runs off the face, while moisture inside the wall can still escape. That difference is the whole point.

Will it fix my damp wall?

If it's penetrating damp coming through porous render or masonry, this is exactly what the product is designed for. If it's a leaking gutter, a failed roof or rising damp, coating the wall won't help and we'll say so at the survey.

What colours can I have?

A wide range. We bring samples to the survey so you can see them against your own wall in daylight, which is the only way to judge a colour.
